Kindly review this policy thoroughly prior to finalizing a booking. By reserving a charter with CommonplaceLounge, you confirm your acceptance of these terms for refunds.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Timeline
More than 72 Hours Prior to Charter
Qualification for: Full refund excluding service charges
Refund Duration: 5-7 working days
Service Charge: €50 for card payments
Requirements: Cancellation must be made in written form through email or telephone
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Qualification for: Half the total cost of yacht rental
Refund Duration: 7-10 working days
Service Charge: €25 deducted from the refund
Requirements: A valid reason is required; subject to administration fees
Less than 24 Hours Prior to Charter
Qualification for: None
Exception: Emergency situations may be reviewed
Alternative: An option for charter credit might be offered at the discretion of our management
Requirements: Proof is necessary for emergency situations
Cancellations Due to Weather
Our Guarantee Regarding Weather
Our number one concern is your safety. If our captain, who is certified, determines that weather conditions are not safe for the charter operation, we offer accommodating alternatives:
- Complete Refund: a full refund if it's impossible to reschedule
- Reschedule at No Extra Cost: Transfer your charter to an available date
- Credit for Charter: A credit that's valid for one year from the initial charter date
Procedure for Weather Assessment
We take into account several factors when assessing the weather:
- Analysis of wind speed and direction
- Sea conditions and wave size
- Visibility and precipitation outlook
- Warnings and advisories from the Coast Guard
- A safety evaluation by our professional captain
Timeline for Decisions: We make decisions regarding weather cancellations no later than 4 hours prior to the planned departure.
Refunds for Medical Emergencies
Special Circumstances
We recognize that medical emergencies can happen unexpectedly. The following circumstances could warrant a special review:
- Sudden hospital-required illness or injury
- Passing of a close family member
- Deployment in the military or an urgent recall
- Summon by court or jury duty
- Impacts on travel due to natural disasters
Needed Documentation
For requests concerning medical emergencies, please provide:
- Document from the hospital or medical certificate
- Death certificate when relevant
- Military orders officially issued
- Notice of jury duty or court summons
- Emergency declarations or travel warnings
Refund Process: We process refunds due to emergencies within 3-5 business days after the proper documents are provided.
Cancellations for Operational Reasons
Problems with the Vessel
In the event that your specific vessel faces mechanical issues that cannot be resolved:
- An Alternative Vessel: We will seek to provide a vessel that is similar
- Full Refund: If we can't offer a suitable alternative
- Partial Refund: In case the alternate vessel has a different pricing rate
- Extra Reimbursement: We may offer compensation for the inconvenience
Availability of the Crew
On rare occasions when certified crew become unavailable:
- We will arrange an alternative crew if feasible
- Full refund if the charter cannot be conducted
- Options to reschedule without additional charges
Procedure for Refund Issuance
Method of Payment
We will process the refund using the same payment method that was used to book the charter:
- Cards: 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
- Physical Currency/Cheques: 3-5 business days

Processing for Card Payments
A fee of €50 for cancellations initiated over 72 hours before
Cost of Processing Bank Transfers
A fee of €25 for all returned transactions via bank
Additional Costs for International Processing
Extra fees might be applicable for transactions across borders
Issuance of Charter Credits
Cases for Credit Issuance
In certain scenarios, instead of a refund, we may offer credits for the charter:
- Late cancellations (under 24 hours before charter)
- Cancellations due to weather
- Requests made voluntarily to change dates
- Interruptions for reasons of operation
Conditions for Credits
- Period of Validity: 12 months from the date it is issued
- Non-transferable: Cannot be passed on to other individuals
- Worth: Reflects the full value of the charter, no fees for processing deducted
- Applicability: Valid for booking any charter that's available
- Non-extension: Credit expires 12 months after issuance without possibility for renewal
Refunding Partial Services
Interruption of Services
If events we can control lead to your charter being interrupted or stopped prematurely:
- Refund on a pro-rata basis for the time not used
- Credit equivalent to the undelivered service for future charters
- Additional services or upgrades offered as a courtesy
Disruptions Caused by Guests
If a charter has to be concluded ahead of schedule due to behavior of guests or infringement of safety protocols:
- No refund for the remaining time
- Full payment is still required
- Potentially facing extra charges
Settling Disputes
If there's a dispute over a refund decision, you have the option to:
- Request a reassessment by our management
- Present extra proof or documentation
- Go to consumer rights groups for assistance
- Seek legal avenues available by the law

Third Step: Evaluation and Execution
We will acknowledge your submission within a day, compare it against this policy, and aim to communicate a decision within two days, processing any approved refunds within the time periods stipulated above.

- Claims for refunds must be issued in writing
- Refunds are delivered in €, regardless of the original currency used for payment
- We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance
- Changes to this policy can be made with a notice period of 30 days
- Refunds may be subject to taxes and legal requirements
